This Privacy Policy explains how XTERIOR LIMITED handles information in connection with the Android application Xterior Buildspace, package uk.co.xteriorbuild.finish.xteriorline.forma.phase.

Xterior Buildspace is a record-keeping and planning aid for a construction manager in a small residential building and finishing business. It keeps work packages with cost line items and payment certificates, shows the open balance per package, projects open balances into future periods and derives labour days from open labour balances.

The core workflow of the app runs locally on the Android device. This policy describes what the app stores on the device, the limited circumstances in which information leaves it through actions you choose, and how to contact the company.

Information Kept on Your Device

Everything you enter into Xterior Buildspace is stored in the application's own storage on the Android device. No account is needed to use the app, and the records you keep are not sent to the company as part of the core workflow. The records in question are the following.

The app also holds its own operating state on the device: your settings and display preferences, together with interface details such as the saved order of lists. This is the app's own state, used to make the app look and behave as you left it, and it is not part of your project records.

  • Work packages with their details, totals and cost line items, including quantities, units, rates, amounts, due dates and cost types
  • Payment certificates with their dates, periods covered, amounts paid, payment types and notes

External Actions You Choose

Two actions in the app open something outside it, and both take place only when you select them: opening the company website in a browser, and composing an email to the company in an email client.

If you send an email to the company, the company receives your email address and whatever your message contains, including any attachment you choose to add. That is direct correspondence, and it is separate from the app's records, which are included in the message only if you type or attach them yourself.

The browser and the email client are external Android services, and they operate under their own privacy practices, which apply to what you do within them.

Local Content and Company-Side Collection

Your work packages, cost line items and payment certificates remain on the device. They are not automatically transmitted to the developer as part of the core workflow, and the company does not hold a copy of them on any server. The app does not ask for your name, address or any other identity detail in order to work.

This is not the same as saying that the content holds no personal information. Whatever appears in a record is whatever you chose to enter, and work packages, payment notes and reference details may identify people or contain other personal information if you put it there. The company does not receive that content unless you send it to the company yourself.

The app has no export or sharing feature of its own, so the records you create stay in the app's storage on the device until you delete them, clear the local data or uninstall the application.

What the App Does Not Include

The application does not include login or account registration, cloud synchronisation, advertising, analytics, tracking, payment processing, subscriptions or monetisation features. It also does not include third-party service SDKs that receive app data.

Permissions the App Declares

Xterior Buildspace declares one Android permission, android.permission.INTERNET. It is declared by the framework the app is built with, and the app itself makes no network requests. It is not used to send your records anywhere.

Deleting Your Records

Individual records can be deleted inside the app, and a control is also provided for clearing all local data at once. Local app data can equally be removed through Android device settings, by clearing the application's storage, or by uninstalling the application. The same steps remove the app's settings and interface state, which the app keeps on the device alongside your records.

Anything you have sent to the company by email sits in the company's mail system rather than in the app, and is kept only for as long as it is needed to handle your enquiry.

Important Use Notice

Everything the app holds is stored on this device only, and the figures it produces are estimates derived from the amounts and dates you enter. Open balances and projected balances should be checked against your own contract and payment paperwork.

Projected values depend on the method you choose and on the periods recorded, so results differ according to the method used. Labour days are a derived figure calculated from open labour balances and the blended day rate you enter; they are not a measured or assessed quantity.

The app is a record-keeping and planning aid. It does not replace the contract, certificate and payment paperwork that govern your work.

Security

Reasonable measures are used to support the integrity of the application. Local app content stays in the application's own storage on the device and is not held on company servers. Users remain responsible for securing their own device and any copies of information they take from it, such as screenshots or emails. No method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee complete security.

Your Rights in the UK and EEA

Where data protection legislation in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area applies, individuals may have rights such as access to, correction of, deletion of and restriction of processing of their personal data, to the extent the law provides those rights. Whether they are available in a particular case depends on whether personal data is being processed by the company.

App records are not automatically transmitted to the company, so they usually sit within your own control and can be managed on the device through the app's delete controls, through Android device settings or by uninstalling the application. If you have corresponded with the company by email, you may raise a question about that correspondence using the contact details in this policy.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended for users aged 13 and above and is not directed to children under 13. The company does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If information of that kind is identified, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it or otherwise address the situation.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be revised as the app or the company's practices develop. The revision date shown with the policy is updated whenever a change is made, and the version published with the app is the one that applies.
